Drilling Yields Positive Results at Morocco Project

In a news release, Maya Gold & Silver Inc. (MYA:TSX.V) reported recent results from the 2020 drill program underway at its Zgounder silver project in Morocco.

The Canadian company's drilling focused on the Eastern zone, which has never been explored and which corresponds to a virgin zone of about 200 x 150 meters (200 x 150m) in size. That zone encompasses several mineralized envelopes. "We are more than satisfied with these positive results of the ongoing drilling program," Chairman and CEO Noureddine Mokaddem said in the release.

As for significant assays from the four reverse circulation holes, which were drilled from the surface, they included 14m at 915 grams per ton (915 g/t) silver, from 109–123m, from hole ZG-19-04. Hole ZG-19-04 showed 7m at 1,279 g/t silver, from 165.5–172.5m. ZG-19-01 demonstrated 2.5m at 1,178 g/t silver, from 213–215.5m.

Highlights from the three diamond drill holes that Maya reported were 6m at 3,547 g/t silver, from 113–119m, encountered in hole ZG-RC-19-27, and 11m at 341 g/t silver, from 41–52m, via hole ZG-RC-19-28. The purpose of diamond drilling is to learn more about the continuity of the mineralized envelopes, "which should increase the quality and the confidence on the mineral resources estimate," the release noted.

Additional results from both types of drilling are pending.
